Infinity Stream

Over the summer of 2019, I took on this personal project. For years we had an empty plot of land so I decided to transform the area into a Japanese inspired zen garden. First, alternating red and white stone was added to form a fluid eye catching foundation. Next, a pond liner was installed into the ground, but later was scrapped and replaced by an original infinity stream idea. The stream is built out of pressure treated wood and flex sealed entirely to prevent wood rotting. The inside was lined with thick plastic sheets and covered in pond stone. In order to make the infinity stream run, I needed to design a water wall. I came up with a post and lintel arch backed by a sheet of plexi-glass. A pump was added into the end of the stream and hooked up through the side of the water wall to a PVC pipe that could fire water through holes at the glass, recirculating the water.

The project was put on pause due to the changing season, but will be finalized and cleaned up as soon as the weather gets warm again.
